The government decided to improve the healthcare system in the country and an important part of this program was the renovation of this hospital. Arkitektura was in charge of the facade renovation, exterior landscape and small out buildings for cafeteria, restrooms, and a chapel. For the facades we proposed a system with perforated aluminum panels, to be installed on a surface mounted structure, on the existing facade.
Built without affecting interior spaces in the hospital, the system also acts as a solar screen, controlling light and heat with color and varying degrees of transparency that add a friendly dimension to a functional building. New landscape, signage plans and security systems were added to improve car and pedestrian traffic flows within this very busy urban context.
