Arkitektura's main objective for this residence on the Island of Santa Cruz in the Galapagos Archipelago was to respect the environment and integrate the house to the site. Local materials are emphasized throughout: lava stone for flooring, and endemic wood for handrails, window frames, doors, and furniture. Sliding glass doors can be completely pulled to one side to create continuity between indoor spaces and outdoor terraces. The landscaping surrounding pool, pergola and jacuzzi uses local plants and utilizes lava stone and sand.
