On the ground floor, the living and family rooms open directly to outdoor terraces. Limestone and light colors are used throughout while large windows allow direct views of the tropical garden.
La Balsilla Condominium
1990 Completed Playas, Ecuador 10000 m2 Scope of Work Architectural Design Construction Supervision this condominium was the first high construction in Playas, a beach resort on the Pacific Ocean. Orientation, natural light and ventilation were important parameters considered in the design giving rooms excellent views of either the ocean or the hillsides. Common areas include swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, and docks for boats with direct access to the ocean. The landscaping was designed with local plants complementing material finishes of brick colored ceramic and local gray stone.
Rio Daule Penthouse
2001 Completed Samborondon, Ecuador 800 m2 Scope of Work Architectural Design Construction Interior Design Large terraces offer 360 degree views of the city for the diplomat owner of this full-floor apartment. Arkitektura’s design focuses on large social areas connected with terraces, a comfortable dining space, and a fully equipped kitchen to accommodate frequent social events. A more private area contains a home office and a large family room for more private gatherings and the master suite. Wood panelings, natural stone, leather, hand-woven carpets, automated window treatments, are all important finishing elements of the design.
Rinconada del Lago Residence
2006 Completed Samborondon, Ecuador 1600 m2 Scope of Work Architectural Design Construction Interior Design One of the owners of this riverside home is a landscape designer so the integration of garden and interiors was key. Social areas were connected directly to covered terraces and gardens and all sliding doors can be pushed to one side blurring the indoor / outdoor line. Living, dining, breakfast rooms, and most bedrooms have views over the gardens and river. Ample amenities for weekend family reunions include: swimming pool, gym, pergola, sauna and barbecue also open to the riverside views. All finishing materials use light colors, marbles, and wood veneers offering a crisp and tropical ambience.
Lago Sol Residence
2004 Completed Samborondon, Ecuador 1500 m2 Scope of Work Architectural Design Construction Interior Design Landscape Design This property claims long frontage on the river Babahoyo allowing Arkitektura’s plan to give almost all rooms in the house a great view over the water. Living, dining, breakfast, and family rooms open up to a covered terrace, which is directly connected to the garden and pool. Large bedroom windows on the second floor also overlook the river. Tons of natural light and ventilation make the house fresh, friendly, and comfortable. A pool house with gym, playroom, kitchenette and terrace is situated directly by the river, creating a great setting for family reunions and social events.
Millenium Condominium
2000 Completed Samborondon, Ecuador 8000 m2 Scope of Work Architectural Design Arkitektura was commissioned to create a space with a tropical feel for this condominium in a newly developing area. Built on the riverside, living rooms and master bedrooms overlook the river while secondary bedrooms and service areas overlook the street. Elevator hallways are open with views and planters. The landscaping on the ground floor is designed with a large variety of tropical flora. Common areas include the swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and club house.
Galapagos Residence
1999 Completed Puerto Ayora, Galapagos 600 m2 Scope of Work Architectural Design Construction Interior Design Arkitektura’s main objective for this residence on the Island of Santa Cruz in the Galapagos Archipelago was to respect the environment and integrate the house to the site. Local materials are emphasized throughout: lava stone for flooring, and endemic wood for handrails, window frames, doors, and furniture. Sliding glass doors can be completely pulled to one side to create continuity between indoor spaces and outdoor terraces. The landscaping surrounding pool, pergola and jacuzzi uses local plants and utilizes lava stone and sand.
